More than a year has passed since 11 March 2020, when WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared Covid-19 a Pandemic.
A year of lockdown, closure of schools, commerce, borders, new routines, and respiratory etiquette. One year, three waves and several mutations later, in Portugal, the State of Emergency continues, as well as teleworking, distance learning and most importantly, the need to protect the most fragile and our Health System.
At national level, the vaccination plan leads to advances and setbacks and many have lost respect for a virus that has taken away our freedom, while others feel they are still losing some sanity.
In the hope that the future will give us the long-awaited turning point, we invite you to take a trip along the past year and revisit the twists and turns that filled the headlines in Portugal and the world.
