The technical and administrative services of FMUL are managed by an Administrator, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and coordination.

The Support Area for Governing Board Members is generally responsible for providing advisory and technical-administrative support to the School’s governing bodies, as well as to the committees appointed by them, and for ensuring institutional relations with external entities.

The Management Support Unit is responsible for document management and process standardization, as well as ensuring the proper and effective management of institutional correspondence, coordinating with the Governance Support Area.

The Information Systems Area is generally responsible for the management and implementation of information and communication services and systems, as well as providing IT and audiovisual support within the scope of the Faculty of Medicine's activities, including cybersecurity and functional analysis, development of academic, administrative, or other applications, implemented or to be implemented.

The Legal Compliance and Control team is generally responsible for providing legal support to the Governance and Administration of the Faculty of Medicine, representing it in legal proceedings, and ensuring the implementation and consolidation of both mandatory and optional compliance processes, as well as related control instruments and procedures, with a special focus on projects funded by European funds.

The Strategic Planning, Quality, and Innovation Services Directorate is generally responsible for advising the Governing Bodies of the Lisbon School of Medicine on the definition, planning, implementation, evaluation, and control of strategic lines and objectives, aimed at ensuring institutional quality, evaluation, and accreditation.

The Human Resources and Training Services Directorate is generally responsible for the administrative management of the School’s human resources, the development of actions aimed at supporting superior decision-making, the dissemination of relevant information, and ensuring compliance with reporting obligations to official entities.

The Communication and Public Relations Services Directorate is generally responsible for ensuring communication and institutional relations for the Lisbon School of Medicine, as well as promoting and publicizing the School’s image and initiatives. It ensures that communication strategies are aligned with the institutional strategy and undertakes actions to preserve the credibility of the FMUL brand.

The Institutional Management Services Directorate is generally responsible for financial, budgetary, and asset management, as well as the financial management of funded projects.

The Institutional Management Services Directorate consists of the following departments:

The Building Management Services Directorate is generally responsible for managing activities related to the School's buildings, as well as maintaining and managing infrastructures and equipment, adopting best practices in sustainability matters.

• Sustainability, Safety, and Health Office
• Laboratory Management Office

The Library, Historical Archives, and Museological Heritage Area is responsible for the management, organization, preservation, and dissemination of bibliographic and documentary resources in any format, supporting teaching, research, and clinical practice at the School of Medicine. It also preserves and promotes the Historical and Museological Archives and their cultural outreach, as well as participates in national and international networks and projects.
