Position context
FMUL is looking for a Project Manager to join the iSTARS team - Informatics and Statistical Tools for the Advancement of Research Success - led by Dr. João Guimarães, under the Program HORIZON-WIDESPREAD-06-2020 (Grant number 952377 – iSTARS), funded by the European Commission [https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/952377].

Profile of Candidate
- BSc or MSc degree;
- Experience in project management in scientific projects;
- Ability to write institutional texts and reports;
- Experience in financial budget tracking of scientific projects;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with different administrative departments within FMUL;
- Team player with the ability to work independently;
- Experience working with defined deadlines;
- Proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese and English;
- Knowledge on the management of European funded projects will be valued.
Working conditions
Fixed-term contract until the end of the project (June 2027), with a gross monthly salary from 1834.93€ to 2523.37€, depending on professional experience, in accordance with the budget defined in the project and by law. The employment contract includes a daily meal allowance of 6€ for each working day, as well as paid Holiday and Christmas allowances (i.e. two extra salaries). The indicated amount will be subject to the mandatory taxes as defined by law. The work will be developed at the Institute for Preventive Medicine and Public Health, FMUL, 35 hours/week, and the expected start date is 01.06.2025 (negotiable).

Evaluation Criteria
Application will be evaluated by João Guimarães (FMUL), Mariana Santos (FMUL), and Brígida Riso (FMUL), in accordance with the following criteria:
- Motivation letter (20%)
- Overall CV and experience (50%):
• Project management activities
• Potential to innovate and actively contribute to the team
-Interview (30%). Only candidates ranking in the top 3 (based on the criteria above) will be called for an interview.
If shortlisted, candidates’ references may be contacted. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Results
All admitted candidates will be notified of the results by email. After notification, all candidates have 10 working days to respond. The panel’s final decision is communicated within a period of 30 days from the application deadline.
