Basic Course on Osteoporosis - 2nd Edition
Theoretical-practical course focused on the approach to osteoporosis, including its pathophysiology, risk factors, diagnosis, and therapeutic strategies. Current recommendations for prevention and treatment will be addressed, with special focus on the elderly population and common clinical contexts, such as fragility fractures. The course also includes a practical component dedicated to the administration of parenteral therapy, namely zoledronate, with training in procedures, monitoring, and management of adverse effects.
Objectives
Recognition of the risk factors and diagnostic criteria for osteoporosis.
Appropriate selection of therapy based on risk stratification.
Training for the safe administration of zoledronate, including patient management, preparation, and follow-up.
Target Audience
Medical residents or specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals interested in bone health.
