On 7 November between 18h and 20h, the event “Glass of Opportunities” organized by the EIT Health Allumni of the University of Lisbon and by pelo Gabinete de Inovação e Empreendedorismo da Faculdade de Medicina of the University of Lisbon, was held at the Rocha Cabral Institute in Lisbon.
This first edition of the event aimed, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, and during a wine tasting, to make participants aware of the academic and professional background of 4 speakers: two from academia, 1 from business and 1 speaker bridging the two areas.
In the first part, we had Tiago Pedro, Deputy Mayor of Alenquer, who spoke about the Alenquer wine region and described the various wines that would be tasted during the event. The Alenquer Municipality was the invited partner entity that established the collaboration with the wine producers from the Alenquer region who attended the event.
Then there were presentations by 4 speakers:
From FMUL, we had Professor Vera Geraldes, professor of Physiology, and Michele Gomes, researcher at the Cardiovascular Centre of the University of Lisbon, who talked about their professional paths and the various research strands they have been developing.
Hugo Ferreira, founder of Neuropsyai and Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon and at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering talked about his experience between the university and start-ups.
Finally, we had Marta Cannas Silva and Sousa from Glintt telling us all about her path up to Glintt.
At the end of the lectures, there was a pleasant networking occasion between the participants, speakers and event organizers.
We would like to thank all the speakers for their presence, the availability of the Rocha Cabral Institute, which gave us the venue to hold the event and also the Alenquer Municipality and Alenquer wine products, for their partnership and interest in our meeeting.
