It is with this title that Professor Diogo Ayres de Campos, Associate Professor at Lisbon School of Medicine (FMUL), in the Público newspaper.

At the expense of sending pregnant women with symptoms of Covid-19 disease from private to public hospitals (according to the DGS guideline), Diogo Ayres de Campos expresses concern about asymptomatic pregnant women, who according to him “represent more than 90% of situations ”and whose screening is performed at the beginning of labor.

Throughout the article, the Professor also puts in perspective two concerns: avoiding that public funds are sent to the private service, betting on the constant improvement of the conditions of service of the public service, and the attribution of important positions in private institutions to professionals “that in the recent past, had important functions in the State ”.
