The GAPIC David Ferreira Award was established in 2016 with the goal of recognising the best Undergraduate Dissertations / Integrated Masters Study Programme Theses in Medicine (MIM) at the FMUL and, and such, encourage the practice of scientific research across the entire spectrum of undergraduate students.
By attributing to it the name of the Scientific and Technological Research and Innovation Support Bureau's (GAPIC's) mentor, the FMUL honours the memory of Prof. David Ferreira, Ph.D, whose campaign to promote scientific research among undergraduate students is undeniable.
The 3 editions of this competition have had a total of 59 candidates, with 3 Awards and 9 Honourable Mentions.
Applications for the 4th edition of the GAPIC David Ferreira Award are open until 30th September. Students of MIM that have submitted their dissertation/thesis for approval in the Academic Year 2018/2019 are welcome to apply.
