Parkinson's Disease - Diário de Notícias asked and Prof. Joaquim Ferreira answered
On April 6, Diário de Notícias published an article that posed the following question: "Is Parkinson's Disease treatable?"
The answer to this question came from Joaquim Ferreira, Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology at FMUL. Although there are "potential medications under investigation," unfortunately, there is still no cure for this disease. There are, however, treatments intended to improve the symptoms, the tremor and the slowness in the movements. It is estimated that there are around 18,000 patients in Portugal.
