1. Introduction
The Internal Evaluation and Quality Assurance Multidisciplinary Team hereby presents to FMUL the implementation indicators of the process of exam marking by optical reading. The data shown here refer to the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.

2.2 No of Curricular Units (*) that requested the service – 2nd semester

(*) Curricular Units of the Integrated Master Degree in Medicine, of the Integrated Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering, BSc Degree in Health Sciences, and FMUL Postgraduate Training Courses.
The charts show that the number of Curricular Units or Subject Areas requesting the OCR service has increased over the two academic years.
The total number of curricular units of the Integrated Master Degree in Medicine that request the service in the 1st exam sitting requested it again in the 2nd sitting (the difference in the number of requests between the 1st and the 2nd exam sittings in 2011-12 refers to extra exams/tests that used OCR).
2.3 Average delivery time of results to curricular units – 1st semester

2.4 Average delivery time of results to curricular units – 2nd semester

When users requested the service, they were informed that the response time for delivering results would not exceed 48 hours.
This goal has been largely overcome, and there was an even more significant decrease in the 2011-2012 academic year.
2.5 No. of printed answer sheets requested by curricular units and no. of sheets submitted for OCR.

In the two academic years, approximately 9 thousand sheets of paper were destroyed, which is equivalent to 18 reams of paper!
Users are strongly advised to request just the number of answer sheets necessary for students enrolled in the exams.
