The Office for the Support of Scientific and Technological Research, and Innovation (GAPIC) launched the 14th Programme “Education for Science” competition in October 2010. The programme enables students to be involved in the conception and execution of laboratory or clinical research projects in the academic year 2010/2011, as part of a research team from a unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL) and of the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM).

There were 31 applications to the 14th Programme, involving 44 students, and of which 24 were approved with funding and 7 were approved without funding. Reviewers praised the high quality of the projects, and classified 8 of them as “Excellent”, 18 as “Very Good” and 5 as “Good”.
