At an international event held in Lisbon between 14 and 17 July, the new Chairman of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine was be publicly presented.

Professor of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, Diogo Ayres de Campos is currently the Director of the Obstetrics Service at the Northern Lisbon University Hospital Centre.

As of 14 July and for the next 3 years of office, Diogo Ayres de Campos will be the face of  the largest Society representing all obstetricians and neonatologists.

"It is an enormous honour for me to preside over this 53-year-old society that represents all European obstetricians and also the only one that represents obstetricians and neonatologists. It will be 3 years of work to improve perinatal care and make it more equitable across Europe". - Diogo Ayres de Campos
