The FMUL Activities Report 2020 was approved unanimously, with a unanimous vote of praise, by the School Council on 28 April. This report reflects a reality that was totally conditioned by the unique events that occurred during 2020, related to the serious pandemic crisis that we are still experiencing. Despite this, it was possible to maintain activity in the various strategic areas of our School, which allows us to look with immense pride at our academic community for all that has been accomplished and to have huge hope for the future.

The strategic action of the Faculty is to provide quality education, combined with excellent research and a practice of Medicine at the highest scientific and technological levels. FMUL is a modern, innovative and open institution, with ability to communicate and strengthen relationships at various levels of the society where it acts.

In order to be competitive at national and international level, we have defined several objectives for the year 2020, aligned with the main guidelines of the University of Lisbon we are part of.

The achievement of the goals set for 2020, as well as the conduction of all activities and initiatives and the goals achieved, were only possible with the involvement and dedication of lecturers, researchers, admin staff and students, to whom I express my deep thanks. With the enthusiasm and commitment of all, we continued our mission and successfully attained our goals, contributing to the development of a School that honours the past and builds the future!
