XXII hospital dos pequeninos

The Students' Association of Lisbon School of Medicine (AEFML) is planning the 22nd edition of the Hospital dos Pequeninos Project.

This edition of the Hospital dos Pequeninos will take place in two main stages:

  • For schools, by appointment, from November 27 to 30, in Cafeteria I of the University of Lisbon's Social Services ("UL's Old Canteen");
  • A weekend dedicated to families at the Pavilion of Knowledge on December 2 and 3, with free admission.

This project is aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 7 and aims to reduce the anxiety they feel when in the presence of a health professional, namely in consultation and in an in-hospital setting. The project was initiated by EMSA (European Medical Students' Association), an organization made up of various Student Associations in Europe, with the participation of countries such as Sweden, Germany, Austria, Croatia and the United Kingdom.

Participation is estimated at over 1,000 children during the period dedicated to schools and several hundred in the Pavilion of Knowledge. To take part, children just need to bring a doll with a "boo-boo" and a desire to play!
