It was following the collective suspension of face-to-face teaching activities in all schools that several students began to express their willingness to collaborate with the National Health Service (SNS). Either by reinforcing the SNS24 line or in person in hospitals, there were several requests that grew stronger to demonstrate the will to act and react, helping not only potential patients, but also supporting doctors, their professional peers.
Representing all these cases, the National Association of Medical Students (ANEM) decided to mediate this volunteering attitude, trying that mainly year 6 students fill some absences and mitigate the tiredness already accumulated by the health professionals.
Although there has not yet been a positive response from the authorities enabling this group to be involved, the initiative is here, even though everyone is aware of the fragility implicit in this very resolute action.
For medical students who want to volunteer, this is the official form that ANEM created sign-up.
