Introduction Week to the Medicine Course
Int he week of the 28th of September to the 2nd of October classes began for the first year with the Introduction Week to the Medicine Course which took place in the Main Auditorium of the Egas Moniz Building.
This week is a part of the compulsory curriculum nucleus of the study plan for the Course in Medicine, and, under the coordination of Professor J. Fernandes e Fernandes and Professor J. Lobo Antunes, it intends to let students know about the syllabus of the course and the services that exist for them in the Faculty, as well as dealing with the several different aspects of medical life at the same time as they begin their academic training. The reception was held by the Lisbon Medical Academic Song Group, which was followed by a welcome session with the following speeches: Dean, Vice-President of the Scientific Council and President of the Pedagogical Council of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, Clinical Director of Santa Maria Hospital, President of the Association of Former Students of the Faculty of Medicine and President of the Students’ Association. A high point at the end of the morning was the Hippocratic Oath (adapted), taken by the new students to the Faculty.
At the end of the Introduction Week the FMUL Planning and Evaluation Office (GPA) carried out a questionnaire with participating students, the results of which can be seen here.
