The GAPIC (Gabinete de Apoio á Investigação Científica, Tecnológica e Inovação) promotes several competitions every year, in order to stimulate students and young doctors' interest in research.

22nd"Education for Science" Programme - Research Projects for Students

• For the 22nd consecutive year, the “Education for Science” Programme promotes the opportunity for students to participate in the drawing and execution of research projects, laboratory or clinical, in one of the CAML institutes (FMUL, iMM, HSM), integrated in a research team and accompanied by a tutor.During the 2014/2015 school year, the CHLM/FMUL Grants were created to reinforce this programme, by supporting 3 projects with an exclusive clinical component to be developed in CHLN Clinic or Laboratories.

• GAPIC David Ferreira Award (3rd Edition)

The GAPIC David Ferreira Award aims to distinguish the best FMUL (Faculty of Medicine - University of Lisbon) Final Papers/ MIM Thesis and thus stimulate scientific research by students in the pre-graduate stage.

Students may submit Final Papers / MIM Thesis approved in the 2017/2018 school year.

• Astrazeneca Foundation / FMUL Research Grant

FMUL and the AstraZeneca Foundation created the Annual Research Grant for Medical Graduates less than 5 years ago (at the time of application), in order to fund a research project in the Health sector.
