To the entire Academic Community,

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon is committed to fulfilling its Mission and successfully achieving its objectives, in order to build its future and continue with its vision of becoming a top reference institution for medical education and biomedical research, nationally and in Europe.

During 2017, the FMUL continued its mission, having carried out various activities in the scope of strategic, planned goals:

• Improve the quality of FMUL's Pre- and Post-graduate Education;


• Promote Scientific Research;


• Boost external relations;


• Intensify administrative modernisation;


• Improve infrastructures for the service of the FMUL community.

All activities and initiatives are represented and detailed in the 2017 FMUL Activities Report (unanimously approved and endorsed by the School Council on April 26th), which were only possible with the crucial involvement of teachers, researchers, non-teaching staff and pupils in an example of true teamwork, for which I extend my deepest thanks.

With everyone's enthusiasm and commitment, we will continue to build a School that honours the past and builds the future!
