On May 5, Pedro Simas, Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Molecular Medicine João Lobo Antunes, embarks on an adventure that will take him through Portugal in 8 days. Pedro will participate in the 2018 Transportugal Race and will do so on behalf of the iMM-Laço Fund. With Professor Pedro Simas, the iMM-Laço Fund will cover 1000 km of off-road circuits, crossing forests, rivers and streams, hills and valleys.
"This is a challenge that essentially requires preparation. Since the beginning of the year that I have dedicated myself to this project, having already covered about 7000 km. I'm connected to the iMM-Laço Fund because I felt the need to be associated with a solidarity project. In this way I intend to give voice to a project that has the support of civil society and that supports research in the field of breast cancer. I will go through 8 stages, for which I will need a lot of determination and courage. This will also be my tribute to the thousands of women who face this disease daily with the same courage and determination."
