The BIAL Foundation promotes the BIAL Prize for Clinical Medicine 2018, worth 100 000€, plus the possibility of publishing the work in an exclusive first edition. There are also two honorable mentions of 10 000€ each.

The BIAL Medicina Clínica 2018 Award aims to reward an intellectual, original, medical work with a free theme and directed to clinical practice, with an outcome of great quality and relevance. Works published in the form of papers or theses are not eligible. At least one of the authors must be a national doctor of a Portuguese speaking country.

The Jury will be chaired by Prof. Manuel Sobrinho Simões and composed of Professors of several Faculties of Medicine, among them Prof. José Melo Cristino from FMUL.

Over the years, the BIAL Foundation has developed a close relationship with the scientific community, first in Portugal and then in the world. It is currently a reference institution, particularly in the field of Neuroscience research, which aims to stimulate discoveries that benefit people, providing more health and enabling new levels of knowledge.
