Maria Sousa Rebelo awarded "Exceptional Student Award 2014"
Maria Rebelo, a student on the Lisbon Medical Academic Centre PhD Programme, has been awarded the “Exceptional Student Award 2014” for her research project entitled: "Flow Cytometric Detection of Light Depolarization: A Novel Approach to Detect Antimalarial Drug Resistance in Resource-limited Endemic Region”. The award, granted by the Awards Committee of the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry Award, acknowledges the continued excellent performance of a student that has brought benefits to the area of research and society at large. The award consists of a certificate and a cheque to the value of $1,000 USD.
The work of Maria Rebelo is supervised by Professor Thomas Hanscheid (supervisor) and Professor Maria Mota (co-supervisor).
