Presentation Session of the Nutrition and Oncology Project
The Institute of Molecular Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon (IMM-FMUL) held the presentation session of a new multicentre research project on nutrition and oncology on 27 March, from 10am to 12am, in Amphitheatre 52 of the Egas Moniz building. This new project, coordinated by Professor Paula Ravasco, main researcher of the Maria Ermelinda Lab, falls within the scope of: “Watercress: a therapeutic adjuvant in oncological treatment?”
Epidemiological, metabolic and cellular evidence substantiating the relevance of the proposed nutritional intervention and cancer was presented at the event. There was a further open discussion period, for related issues such as: watercress in the Portuguese diet; dietary modulation of health and disease; the Portuguese dietary pattern versus that of other countries; the metabolic profile; cancer, its incidence and treatment.
