Knowing in order to Intervene – Research and Teaching: what tensions? what challenges?
The Quality Assurance Council of the UL organized the 6th Seminar “Research and Teaching at the University of Lisbon: what tensions? what challenges?” on 14 May, as part of the Cycle of Meetings ‘Knowing in order to Intervene’, which started in November 2010.
Taking the merger of the UL and the UTL and the pioneer construction of a new ULisbon as background, these meetings focused debate on the relationship between research and teaching, which is the core of its mission: “The University of Lisbon is a teaching and science institution based on the creation, transmission and social and economic enhancement of knowledge and culture, committed to the progress of society” (Article 2, Mission, Statutes of the University of Lisbon, Government’s Official Gazette, 19 April 2013).
