Scientific Research Projects for FMUL Students 2012/2013
The "Education through Science” Programme aims to foster the practice of scientific research by students, enabling them to participate directly in the design and execution of clinical or laboratorial research projects at a research unit of FMUL, the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM) or at Santa Maria Hospital (HSM), under the guidance of a supervisor.
As part of the 16th programme, and in addition to the regular applications for funding made to GAPIC/FMUL, this year a further twelve Scientific Research Gulbenkian/FMUL scholarships will be awarded for research projects with a further originality component (3.000,00€). Five Scientific Mobility Gulbenkian/FMUL will also be awarded for traineeships in European research units of reference (3.000,00€).
This initiative aims to offer students the opportunity to go through all the stages of the scientific education process under supervision at all times. This process requires students to prepare a scientific project based on an original hypothesis, submit it to GAPIC for funding (depending on peer review), execute under supervision, present it publically at the “Education through Science” Symposium, and, finally, write a report on a scientific paper format.
Recipients: Students interested in scientific research from the Integrated Master Degree in Medicine and from other undergraduate degrees in which FMUL is a partner; students enrolled in the elective “Research Project” wishing to obtain funding for their projects
Applications: 1-31 October 2012
