Calouste Gulbenkian Fundation aproves GAPIC / FMUL Project
The project "Education for Science - Promotion of Scientific Research in Pre-Graduate Medical Education," submitted by GAPIC / FMUL to the competition Innovative Projects in Education by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation was approved, with the granting of a € 53,000,00 subsidy.
This project is intended, as part of an ongoing educational program initiated by GAPIC, the "Education for Science" Program, to expand the supply of funded research projects for FMUL pre-Graduation (Integrated Masters Course in Medicine) students and to promote the desirable components of internationalization and mobility.
The grant, which will be managed by the financial department of FMUL, is intended to fund: i) twelve (12) additional research grants, for projects with an added component of originality, which will be called "Gulbenkian Scholarships - FMUL"; II ) five (5) scholarships in European research units (not Portuguese) of reference, which will be called "Gulbenkian grants - FMUL Scientific Mobility ", and III) A Symposium, to be promoted in collaboration with FMUL’ Students’ Association (AEFML). This symposium will present the results of projects developed through the "Education for Science" Program, with participation of students from other medical schools in the country involved in similar projects; and also guests who recognized experts in medical education and / or in scientific areas identified by students in the program as relevant to their training.
