More And Better
MyGiaf – Electronic Register of Attendance

The Electronic Register of Attendance is up and running for the use of all non-teaching staff and non-researchers of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon since 1 November 2011.
All employees can view and manage their personal information and attendance record by using the MyGiaf application. They can also make some changes to it and submit some (pre-defined) requests, including annual leave requests or changes.
All changes and requests made by employees will always require authorization by their superiors.
The assiduous attendance module was programmed according to the “Regulation of the Operating Period and Working Hours of Non-teaching Staff and Non-research Staff of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL)” published in the Government’s Official Gazette no. 85 on 3 May 2010.
Two concepts introduced by the Regulation:
Bank of Hours: This refers to the number of hours worked by employees in the current month and it may show plus or minus minutes. In order to monitor the situation of their bank of hours, members of staff should check their balance regularly, as it will depend on the type of working schedule they have.
Hour Credit: Regardless of the type of working schedule they have, all employees are entitled to a leave period of 4 hours per month, which can be used in one go or spread over time. These 4 hours can also be used to offset time owed to the institution that is not legally justified.
