There is no party like this one
The summer is characterised by the distinct festivals held across the country, each bearing certain aspects that distinguish them, the same applying to the different publics that attend them.
Many people even consider these summer festivities as the “event of the year” and although there is much talk about the “crisis”, they actually continue to attract a lot of people. Despite the fact that tickets are quite expensive, for many people the “sacrifice is worthwhile”.
The Avante Party stands out from the most common form of festival, and is actually quite different from all others. Classic festivals normally promote one specific topic or type of music, and are aimed at a homogenous group of people whose musical preferences fit into that interaction.
At a time of generalised discouragement, there is a strong need for new initiatives to make people feel well, be with their families and friends, meet new people, and be in a good mood and in good spirits. These are the “ingredients” one needs to have a great PARTY.
At the Avante Party, apart from the main stage, there are other smaller ones scattered all over the precinct. This is where mostly Portuguese bands play throughout the three days of the festival, offering musical styles for all tastes and age groups.
The grounds where the Party takes place are quite large and divided into regions representing all the districts in the country. This allows visitors to enjoy the food and typical products from each of these regions.
The Book Fair, the Record Fair, the Theatre, and the Children’s Zone are just a few of the many attractions we can visit. Many forms of art are exhibited and enjoyed by all visitors to the festival. It also works as a meeting point for various nationalities and cultures.
The peculiarity of this Party is the wide range of public it attracts, spanning from children to senior citizens. The good mood in the air and the contagious enjoyment are amazing, and this good feeling permeates all, starting with the children and spreading to the older people.
Everyone gets on well as if they have been friends for a long time, greeting each other, jumping and dancing together with total absence of prejudice.
The slogan of the Party could not be more appropriate: “There is no Party like this one”.
