In partnership with the Associação Moinho da Juventude (Windmill Youth Association), the Project Faculty to Help organized a school material and children’s books (o – 3 years old) collection campaign on 5 and 7 October.
Associação Moinho da Juventude:
Born out of an informal children animation project, women organization and fight for basic sanitation in the 1980s, the Cultural Association Moinho da Juventude is nowadays a Community Project. It was set up by residents faced with common problems and who, thanks to a joint initiative, have extended and cemented the objectives and foundations of their action. This Association was officially set up by public deed in 1987.
The objective of this campaign was to collect school material and children books for later delivery to children from Moinho da Juventude living in disadvantaged families.
With the help of all those who participated, we were able to collect materials necessary to the activity of Associação Moinho da Juventude, such as:
Children’s Books (63)
Writing Pads /notebooks (43)
Pencil cases (32)
Filling folders and files (30)
Didactic games (16)
Diverse school material: sets of rubbers, erasers, rulers, painting materials, ball pens, pens, felt pens, charcoal pencils, colouring pencils, wax pencils, and markers.
The next initiative is the Blood Collection Campaign and Marrow Bone Registration Donors which will be held on 3 November at the Institute of Preventive Medicine in the Egas Moniz Building of FMUL.
