More And Better
Campaign “Small and Ecological”
The launching of the campaign “Pequenos e Ecológicos”, on 6, 7 and 10 December at the University of Lisbon met with huge success.
Part of the Project “Universidade Verde”,it had the special participation of a group of children from the Kindergarten of the Social Welfare Services of the University of Lisbon (SASUL), who created and decorated recycling banks for exhibition at 3 Organic Units of the University.
The recycling banks will be on display for 3 weeks, and result from an initiative started by children, which will be continued by raising the awareness of the entire academic community to the importance of the simple gesture of rubbish separation.
The first group to make a presentation was that formed by 4-year olds who, on 6 December at the Law School, taught grown-ups how to recycle, showing how easy it is, even for a child.
On 7 December, at the Interdisciplinary Research Institute, it was the turn of 3-year olds who, as if by magic, produced the recycling banks, after making a trick they had prepared with their teachers.
The last day of the campaign, 10 December, was in charge of 5-year olds, who, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, sang a song called “Protecting Nature” and showed adults how important recycling is, and how looking after our planets must become an everyday priority.
The University of Lisbon, Shared Services, and the Social Welfare Services expect to attain good results thanks to this initiative: lots of separated rubbish in the recycling banks and growing awareness, on the part of students and staff, with regard to this issue.
The first step has already been taken by children of the University. It now depends on adults’ conscience to create an academic community with a strong stance towards recycling.
The UL and SPUL are counting on everybody’s support!
