The Welcome II Programme targets the recruitment of European researchers to join Portuguese research institutions after work in Third Countries. It is administered by FCT, being cofunded under the the Marie Curie Action COFUND , a part of the 7th European Union Research Framework Programme.

This web page is a placeholder, to be progressively completed with other elements, in particular the official Announcement and Regulations, after the contract between FCT and the EC is signed.

The call is expected to open on October 1st 2010, closing on December 12th 2010, at 5pm Lisbon time.

Applications are jointly submitted both by a researcher and a host research institution in Portugal with sections of the application to be completed by the researcher and others by the institution. It is recommended that preparatory work for the scientific definition of the application should start as soon as possible.

• Associate Laboratories

• FCT funded research units

• State Laboratories

Note that for a FCT funded institution to be admissible, it is required to be an Associate Laboratory or that in its latest evaluation has attained Good or above.
