Open Space
Researching Science and Health
In this space we continue to divulge on-line resources, which may be personal pages, blogs, institutional portals, etc. We will grant special attention to those that are easy and intuitive to read, and are preferably free to access. A substantial number of them will be devoted to medical sciences.
In this issue we are presenting some suggestions for reference pages that may be added to one’s favourites.
- Priberam Dictionary of the Portuguese Language (DPLP)
This is currently the highest quality Portuguese on-line dictionary.
“It is a European Continental Portuguese dictionary containing about 96,000 lexical entries including expressions and phrases, and which allows consultation on definitions, with synonyms and antonyms (…) sub-entries and expressions. In some cases it is also possible to consult information about the origin of the word and its pronunciation, about verb conjugation and about equivalents from and into Spanish, French and English.”
