More And Better
Updating of the GAPAE page
The GAPAE (Student Support and Accompaniment Office) has this month updated its page on the faculty portal, making information about the main work it carries out available.
On www.fm.ul.pt/gapae you will be able to consult information about:
• GAPAE’s work and aims;
• a study carried out by this office on academic adaptation;
• documentation on the FMUL tutoring programme;
• two workshops for medicine students:
. Psycho-pedagogical support for students who wish to grant 1st and 2nd year students with practical strategies to deal with or minimise the difficulties or constraints arising from the processes of adaptation;
. Burnout, the situation of doctors and medical students (taking place until the 13th of April), which intends to identify the specific symptoms of Burnout and to develop prevention strategies to diminish the risk factors in 3rd, 4th and 5th year students.
The GAPAE is an FMUL structure providing direct support to the student and with the general aim of promoting academic success and minimising the psycho-social constraints and difficulties experienced by students during their academic career. It has an interventional element (seeking solutions for students’ requests/problems, guaranteeing the confidentiality of the information shared during support sessions) and a preventive aspect through the projects it carries out.
