More And Better
My GIAF
On the 7th of April last the Human Resources Office made an important tool, called My GIAF, available to all the collaborators in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
Through it the user can consult his individual process on any computer, inside or outside the institution. He may even make a set of alterations at the simple distance of a click away, with it no longer being necessary to go to the Nucleus of Human Resources and be subject to times for receiving requests.
Yet the most important elements in this new tool are the user and his attitude in relation to the system. It is the user who will dictate the future of My GIAF, and thus the importance of hearing his reports, understanding his difficulties and defining the areas to be improved by the Nucleus of Human Resources. So everyone’s feedback is essential.
The major innovation for this year is the marking of Holiday times online, with the intention of making collaborators aware of a “greener” environmental policy. Through marking our holiday time on My GIAF the service will economise both in consumer items and in time.
The second challenge for My GIAF, for this year, will be the controlling of absences by non-teaching and non-research collaborators. With the new regulation of working hours about to be published in the Parliamentary Journal there will soon be the inserting of the module Assiduousness on this tool.
In practice, the user does not intervene in this process; a new field will be added to the main menu in which it will be possible to consult and justify absences at work. This process of justification of absences follows the same principle of marking holiday time, and aims at making savings for the Faculty resources.
We hope this will be a tool that is used by everyone and that it will principally make our daily tasks easier for everyone.
