Mário Andrade, a year 4 student at FMUL, was one of the students infected with Covid-19. He tells, in Conversa Direta (Direct Chat), how he overcame the disease, both physically and psychologically. As a medical student and future doctor, he comments the current situation of the pandemic.
What he wants the most, in the near future, is that the vaccine will bring the necessary immunity, so that normal life can be resumed and all see their goals achieved. In the meantime, he is prepared to assist with the frontline teams, integrating the volunteer groups of the Field Hospital operating at the Stadium of the University of Lisbon.
He is a defender of sustainable development, climate change and the reduction of inequalities between societies. Accordingly, he does not forget these great challenges which must be discussed and improved by everyone.
In the future, at professional level, he has not yet chosen any specialty and continues to “discover the various aspects of medicine to understand which one fits me best”.
Finally, we want to mention that this is the first video interview we have conducted. Within the FMUL communication office, we want to innovate in communication and we are aware that in the future we will improve this communication channel. At the moment, we are going through some adversities and, sometimes, the network during the interview was not good and affected our conversation.
