The Students’ Association of the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon (AEFML) intends to hold, as in previous years, the 19th Edition of the Hospital for the Little Ones Project. This project is aimed at children between 3 and 7 years of age and aims to reduce the anxiety that children feel in the presence of a health professional, namely in consultation and in hospitals.
The project was initiated by the EMSA (European Medical Students' Association), an organization made up of several European Student Associations, with the participation of countries such as Sweden, Germany, Austria, Croatia and the United Kingdom.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to readjust the activity, so this year, it will be in online format, more specifically an interactive platform that will allow, despite the contingencies, to reach a high number of children.
The new website of Hospital for the Little Ones aims to virtually simulate the journey through the stations of Hospital for the Little Ones with the presentation of videos/ interactive games of what is done in the different stations, so that they can “treat” their doll at home and live the experience of the Hospital for the Little Ones in safety.
