The 2019 FMUL Activity Report was unanimously approved by the School Council on 29 May. This report, although referring to the year 2019, was prepared in 2020 in the midst of the biggest Public Health crisis that Humanity has faced in the last 100 years. Accordingly, I cannot ignore that fact and I express here my enormous esteem and gratitude to the entire FMUL community for what it was able to do during these strange times.
In order to place ourselves on a competitive position at national and international level, we have defined several objectives for the year 2019, always aligned with the main guidelines of the University of Lisbon, which we are part of. The Faculty's strategic action involves providing quality education, combined with excellent research and a practice of Medicine at the highest level of scientific and technological development, assuming itself as a modern, innovative and open institution with ability to communicate and strengthen relationships at various levels of the society in which it operates.
In order to meet each of the strategic objectives, various activities and initiatives were conducted, which were only possible with the involvement and dedication of lecturers, researchers, administrative staff and students, to whom I express my deep thanks. With the enthusiasm and commitment of all, we continued our mission and successfully achieved our goals, contributing to the development of a School that honours the past and builds the future!
