Tireless, active and surprising. Such has been the role of the Council of Portuguese Medical Schools (CEMP) Conselho das Escolas Médicas Portuguesas in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic in Portugal. Carrying out a powerful role in society since the first signs of the health crisis, the CEMP never shied away from issuing warnings and notices with swift explanations based on the scientific rigor intrinsic to all its members. Its current presidency is conducted by the Director of our Faculty, Professor Fausto J. Pinto, contributing decisively to the decisions made by the political power in our country.
In difficult times like the ones we live in today, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon has shown unwavering firmness and leadership, the same that helped to build the good name of this distinguished School, helping to manage a crisis that is written every day in history. We are at the forefront of the CEMP and, together, we have advanced in the fight against Covid-19 with the premise of saving lives and keeping society consciously informed.
