It is one of the most cross-cutting areas of nursing and the second largest in number of staff, just after general care nurses, and today the day was marked at CHULN with the participation of various professionals, patients and a poster telling the story of this specialty. 

As a multidisciplinary specialty, it comprises a set of specific knowledge and procedures that aim to help people with acute, chronic or sequelae diseases, in order to maximize their functional potential and independence.

Rehabilitation Nursing in Portugal was born in the 1960s, with Nurse Sales Luís taking responsibility for the training of new rehabilitation nurses; thus the first Rehabilitation Nursing course was born on October 18, 1965.
