He was President of the Portuguese-speaking Medical-Legal and Forensic Services Network, President of the Legal Medicine Specialty College of the Medical Association, President of the Portuguese Association for the Assessment of Bodily Harm, President of the Portuguese Society of Human Genetics and Coordinator of the DNA Profile Data base.
