Biographical note

Ana G. Almeida has a degree in Medicine, PhD in Medicine/Cardiology (2001). She interned at international institutions such as the University of Texas and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. She is Associate Professor (2005) with "Agregação" (habilitation) (2010) by Lisbon School of Medicine. She is Coordinator of the Noninvasive Techniques/Cardiovascular Imaging Unit of the Cardiology Service of the CHULN. She is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. In the European Heart Imaging Association she is Co-Chair of the CMR Certification Board since 2015, Councillor for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance since 2018, member of the Education and Scientific Publications Committees. She is a member of the Board of the European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging and Associate Editor of the Revista Portuguesa de Cardiologia, as well as a reviewer for international and national journals, mostly top quartile. Her research areas focus on translational studies on valvular heart disease, aortic diseases, myocardial imaging, cardiac function, new imaging techniques and artificial intelligence applied to cardiology. She has more than 110 indexed publications, more than 300 invited lectures and more than 600 conference presentations.
