Biographical note

Luís Rocha Lopes graduated in Medicine at Lisbon School of Medicine in 2001, finished the Cardiology Boarding School in 2009, and the PhD in genetics of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 2015 at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science, University College London (UCL), guided by Profs. Perry Elliott and William McKenna. He was a student of the PhD Program - Advanced Medical Training of Calouste Gubenkian Foundation.
He is currently a Clinical-Academic Consultant Cardiologist at the Barts Heart Centre dedicated to cardiomyopathies, cardiogenetics and cardiac mri and Assistant Professor at the Centre for Heart Muscle Disease, Institute of Cardiovascular Science, UCL. His main research areas are the discovery of new genetic causes of cardiomyopathies and the use of advanced imaging for the construction of new models of genotype-phenotype association. The work developed has been published in high-impact journals.
