European Respiratory Society Awarded assiatant professor at Faculdade Ciências UL
Carlos Miguel Farinha, PI researcher at BioFIG-FCUL and assistant professor at DQB-FCUL, was awarded in June the Romain Pauwels Research Award by the European Respiratory Society.
The award (consisting in € 50,000 and supported by GlaxoSmithKline) is awarded to a new generation of lung scientists so as to support young researchers in their quest to understand and treat respiratory illnesses and recognises outstanding contributions in the field.
Carlos Farinha belongs to the Membrane Protein Disorders Unit at BioFIG-FCUL and his research interests focus on the molecular mechanisms of the human genetic disorder Cystic Fibrosis.
The award will be presented at the 22nd European Respiratory Society Annual Congress in Vienna, Austria, in September (1-5), where the researcher will give an invited talk.
