The 2019 Health Marathon Awards for Biomedical Research is an initiative promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Health Marathon Association (MdS) to distinguish the 2 best scientific research projects in the field of cancer, developed in Portugal.

The competition is intended for portuguese or foreign researchers and/or doctors, who have completed the PhD less than ten years (junior category) or more than ten years (senior category).

FCT and MdS are encouraging Applications, which include partnerships between research institutions, based in Portugal, and hospitals or other health institutions, national or foreign.

The prize has a unit amount of € 20,000 (twenty thousand euros) to be awarded to each project for a maximum period of two years, beginning between May and October 2020.
