The University of Lisbon organizes the Solidarity Christmas Campaign, 18 Schools, 18 Helps, between December 5th and 16th, 2022, to support the "A Fábrica dos Sonhos" project.
Between the 5th and the 16th of December 2022, we will help the association Cova do Mar and its Fábrica dos Sonhos project, in its mission, by collecting food and toys destined for delivery to Bairro do 2º Torrão in Trafaria.
A community with serious problems in accessing water, electricity and basic sanitation, but where it is believed that “access to happiness through playing should not depend on the financial capacity of families”.
The objective of this campaign will be to deliver 35 food baskets with 35 play kits to families supported by the Cova do Mar association.
This campaign will collect the following food items: milk, pasta, rice, olive oil, oil, canned goods (tuna, sausages, beans, chickpeas), Maria biscuits. With the food collected, 35 food baskets will be prepared.
Each Play Kit will consist of:
- 1 Book “When I grow up I want to change the world!” – IRISOCIAL
- 1 Book “Malala's Magic Pencil” – Editorial Presença
- 1 Game “Guess Who?”
- 1 “Monopoly Junior” or “Monopoly Speedy” game
- 1 Creative Arts Kit (with colored felt-tip pens, plasticine)
Since this is a solidarity campaign, it is suggested that the academic community get together in a group, with colleagues or friends, and participate by delivering the items chosen to complete the play kits, so that they can be similar for all families .
Collection points:
The FMUL collection point is next to the EEM Christmas Tree. Alternatively, you can also deliver your food items to the Rectory building, the Old Cantina and the Museum of Natural History and Science.
