V Postgraduate Advanced Course in Infant and Family Sciences

This course is part of an initiative by the Brazelton/Gomes-Pedro Foundation (BGP Foundation) for Infant and Family Sciences and aligns with its pedagogical framework. The mission of the BGP Foundation is focused on disseminating science and culture in the fields of infant and family studies, as well as promoting research in this domain, particularly through the establishment of partnerships with Higher Education Institutions, in a comprehensive educational commitment aimed at shared purposes.

Objectives

The Postgraduate Advanced Course in Infant and Family Sciences aims to:

  • Disseminate Science and Culture in the fields of Infant and Family Sciences;
  • Promote reflective practice and research in this domain;
  • Offer a differentiated and up-to-date education based on scientific evidence.

The scientific projections highlighted in the curriculum plan aim to provide the acquisition of integrated knowledge across the multiple scientific areas of infant and family studies, with the goal of ensuring clinical and educational practice that aligns with the scientific evidence of models and concepts in this field.

 

Target Students

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree

Professionals in the fields of Health, Education, Justice, Environment, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, and others.

Training Schedule

Fridays: 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM
Saturdays: 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM
96 hours of Teaching-Learning, plus 24 hours of Tutorial Guidance.

 

Location

6 modules with in-person sessions at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, and 2 modules via videoconference.

Certification

For certification purposes, requests must be formalized via email to posgrad@medicina.ulisboa.pt, by filling out the appropriate form, available here.

If you wish to request a proof of registration or attendance/evaluation statements (without associated payment), you should access your Fénix academic office and click on the "Personal," "Services," and "Requests" sections.

 

Assessment

Knowledge assessment is individual, with students required to complete:

a) Critical reflection and analysis on the contents of each module, to be submitted within one month after the module completion;
b) Final Report/Project on one of the course topics.

The weighting between evaluations a) and b) is 50%.

The final course qualification is expressed as "Not Approved" or "Approved."

To receive the Certificate, the student must attend at least six out of the eight course modules and complete all required assignments with a positive evaluation.
