Coordinated by Francisco Antunes and Fernando Maltez, from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, another volume of the “Highlighted Topics… HIV - Neurocognitive Disorders and Cardiovascular Disease” collection was published, with the support of Gilead Sciences, Lda and published by Permanyer Portugal. This book is dedicated to the two most common comorbidities in HIV-infected patients undergoing effective antiretroviral therapy and warns of the need for prevention and early diagnosis and treatment to minimize the risk associated with mental health and cardiovascular disease in this patient population, where ageing develops earlier than in the general population.
The authors, Fausto Roxo, Isabel Nabais, Silvia Ouakinin, Ana Claudia Miranda, Nuno Marques, Fernando Maltez, and Francisco Antunes, have devoted much of their clinical activity to the fight against AIDS.
This book is available at the Central Library of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. For more information, contact Hugo Caldeira.
