"Introduction to Voice and Singing" Workshop By Diogo Tomás
size="10"
On 12 July, a workshop dedicated to voice, whether spoken word or singing, was held at the EEM. The participants showed their interest because voice is a tool they use while performing their tasks on a daily basis: customer service, classes, lectures, an endless number of activities in which voice plays a key role.
And it couldn't have gone any better. Diogo Tomás, with vast experience in this field (see accompanying biographical note) spared no effort and managed to get everyone to participate in a relaxed but attentive way, giving advice on how to relax the vocal chords, like breathing so as not to be gasping during a speech, how to project the voice so that everyone in an audience can hear the message...in short, several tips that were certainly useful for those who were present.
At the end of the workshop, he issued a challenge to which all participants gave an excellent response: sing a short musical piece in canon. According to Diogo, all the participants did great and surely left the workshop feeling more confident about their voices.
The Board of the CPFMUL will organise a similar session in September, and all those who were unable to attend the July workshop because they were on holidays will be able to enrol.
