Recently re-elected as member of the General Assembly of United European Gastroenterology (UEG), Professor Rui Tato Marinho was the first Portuguese physician to hold this position.
A re-election considered, in his own words, as a "victory" in a European "power play". Confident of the growing relevance of the Portuguese specialists in the European context, he says that Portugal is the "country that sends most papers percapita to UEG Week and two years ago was the second country with most submissions, following Japan".
Professor Rui Tato Marinho is an Aggregate Associate Professor at the Gastroenterology University Clinic and member of the Pedagogical Board of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
