Seasonal Health Contingency Plan: 2017-2018 Winter Module
The Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley is providing on its website, since 31 August, the Seasonal Health Contingency Plan - 2017-2018 Winter Module.
As we can read in the document, «in winter, there are often low temperatures and an increase in the incidence of respiratory infections among the population, particularly seasonal influenza, sometimes combined with other viral and bacterial agents.
(...) The Seasonal Health Contingency Plan (PCSS) - Winter Module defines a set of strategic guidelines that allow preparing and adapting the response of healthcare services and citizens, given the prospects of extreme cold or of an increased incidence of respiratory infections.
The availability of timely information on weather forecasts, on the evolution of the incidence of influenza-like illness and on the demand for healthcare services will enable the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley (ARSLVT) and each Healthcare Center Group (ACES), Hospital Center/Hospital (CH/H) to appropriately address the situation.
The Seasonal Health Contingency Plan - 2017-2018 Winter Module of the ARSLVT is based on the guidelines of the Seasonal Health Contingency Plan - Winter Module References of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
The Winter Module is valid from October 1 2017 to April 30 2018 and, if necessary, in other periods, depending on specific weather conditions. »
