The Social Responsibility Project of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, Faculty to Help, in collaboration with the Portuguese League against Cancer, promoted the day with an awareness raising initiative on this topic, alerting to the risks of intensive and abusive sun exposure and its direct relationship with skin cancer, especially melanoma.
Following this awareness campaign, the Faculty to Help, together with the Board of the Dermatology and Venereology University Clinic, conducted a dermatological screening within the FMUL community that is still ongoing.
Up to 22 June 2017, there were 33 screenings and 42 registrations.
