VITHEA – Computer application to help patients suffering from aphasia
The Laboratory for Spoken Language Systems (L2F) of Inesc-ID developed the application VITHEA (Virtual Therapist for Aphasia treatment) to help patients suffering from aphasia.
«Francisco Fernandes had to relearn how to speak with the support of experts from the Laboratory of Language Studies of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL). In November, rehabilitation started resorting to a tool developed by the Laboratory for Spoken Language Systems of Inesc-ID following the technical guidance of the LEL. «It makes my life a lot easier because I can turn on the computer anytime and practice», praises Francisco Fernandes».
